Bavarian House owner and Chef Monika Washington invites you to her Schnitzel lover’s paradise. The classic German dish of breaded pork tenderloin cutlet, drenched in various gravies and topped with sautéed vegetables like onions and mushrooms, it truly is a schnitzel lover’s paradise.

But it’s not all pork.  There’s roulade, beef rolls seasoned with mustard and stuffed with bacon, onions and pickles and topped with gravy.  There’s sauerbraten, marinated roast beef served with gravy.  And there’s gulasch, which is a dish of beef tips with onions and bell peppers in a sauce.

Owner Monika Washington opened Bavarian House six years ago, after moving to Columbus almost 20 years ago.  She not only cooks, she also bakes all the desserts, including cheesecakes and German cream cakes. 

If you don’t want schnitzel or the beef dishes, try one of the wurst (German sausage) specialties.  There’s curry wurst (two beef sausages with curry sauce), wiener wurst (two beef sausages) or something called Two Bratwurst (two bratwurst or two knackwurst or one of each).

Monika has something for your little ones.  They can choose pint-sized portions os schnitzel or weiner wurst.  And there’s the American menu for kids-chicken tenders, grilled cheese sandwich, cheeseburger or hamburger.

One evening when you’re hungry come in and try the Ente (duckling).  Oh, remember to order it two days in advance and bring a friend.
